Festival for young and old

discover the programme for families

Come to Walden Festival 2022 with the whole family and enjoy a relaxing afternoon on our cosy festival site. There is also a lot to do for the little ones among us.

Imaginaria

Release your inner musician and come and strum, pluck or blow on one of the nine sound-sculptures from Amadeo Kollektif in the middle of Leopold Park. Would you like to hear the sculptures ring out in all their glory? Be there when the  Fujinn Open Orchestra conjure up classical, jazz and world music from the instruments.

Family route

Not sure where to start? Then follow the family route, which is tailor-made for families with children.

Starting point of your adventure is the cosy back garden of the Museum of Natural Sciences. Settle down in the grass and enjoy a picnic to the sounds of the string orchestra BRYGGEN. A short walk brings you to the music pavilion in Citizens' Garden: dance to the catchy tunes of the young mandolin and accordion duo Siger. Thirsty? Then head back to the main stage for a drink and ice cream, and dream away to the enchanting voice of Wanthanee. After that, you can hear the Fujinn Open Orchestra bring the large sound sculptures of the Imaginarium to life and play with them yourself. For the more adventurous, there will be a concert by the Manchester Collective at Le Senghor. Finally, the trio Vloeimans-Florizoone-Brinkmann will provide a last moment of happiness on the main stage with their filmic music.

a day full of fun and good food

You can relax with a tasteful picnic or a refreshing ice cream, in one of the beach chairs or simply stretched out in the grass. Or let yourself be transformed into a flower girl or frightening dino at the KBC make-up stand.

Would you like to make a day trip of it? Then visit the Museum of Natural Sciences in the morning. You can visit the museum for only 5€ when showing your Walden Festival ticket. Surf to the museum's website, book your desired time slot and select the 'special day' rate.
