ZENNE Quartet
quartet trilogy
about
In 2019, four Belgian chamber musicians founded the ZENNE Quartet. Walden Festival provides them with a unique stage: the Chapel for Europe. The string quartet perform no fewer than three concerts in one day at this serene location. Music by contemporary Belgian composer Walter Hus takes centre stage. He wrote Five to five for a Yamamoto fashion show. His sixth and last string quartet, on the other hand, is a nod to Beethoven. Together with modern music by, amongst others, Tim Vandenbergh en Peteris Vasks, the ZENNE Quartet create a bright contrast with masterly string quartets by Beethoven and Ravel.
