The young Brussels Baroque ensemble Les Abbagliati and Marieke Van Ransbeeck, recently one of ‘De Twintigers’ on Klara, invite you for a sultry summer’s day of revelry. 

During this concert, Marieke Van Ransbeeck plays two Baroque musettes: instruments from the bagpipe family whose heyday was during the Baroque period in France. 

The musicians of Les Abbagliati explore the folkish sides of French Baroque composers like Hotteterre and De Boismortier. When Baroque and folk meet, they revive an ideal: that of the carefree Arcadia where youngsters dance to folk melodies and declare their love for each other deep into the night.
